Goalball was the first team sport developed exclusively for blind and visually impaired athletes.  The games is played indoors on a court similar in size to a volleyball court.  Goal lines and other court markings are slightly raised so players can orient themselves.  Two teams of 3 blindfolded players are on the court.  The object is to roll/throw a ball past your opponent's goal.  The ball contains bells so players can track it.

Goalball in the U.S. is sanctioned by the United States Association of Blind Athletes (USABA).  The world organizing body is the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA).

Goalball is played by all ages from Youth to Senior.  From small scrimmages to Regional tournaments to National Champoinships to Paralympic and World Champoinships.
